Shottr vs Tegaro
Tegaro is better if you want capture, redaction and clipboard workflow in one suite. Shottr is stronger for pixel rulers and detailed measurement.
Shottr is a fast screenshot app with precise measuring tools. Here is how its capture and editing features compare to Tegaro's Screenshots and Clipboard.

Tegaro and Shottr both capture your screen and can copy text out of an image. Shottr is a dedicated screenshot app with pixel rulers and a color picker. Tegaro's Screenshots tool captures an area, a window, the full screen or a long scrolling page (macOS 14+), lets you mark up the image and blur private information, and reads text from the screen. With Clipboard turned on, you can also search for words inside your past screenshots. Both Screenshots and Clipboard need Pro after the 14-day trial.
Capture and redact
Tegaro combines capture with annotation and redaction tools.
Local OCR
Capture workflow can recognise useful screen text locally.
Clipboard alongside capture
The same app also provides an opt-in clipboard workflow.

Privacy and footprint
Tegaro runs its core typing, clipboard and downloaded-model dictation workflows locally. AI usage may query Claude or Codex providers using existing authentication; licensing checks, downloads, updates and opted-in email have separate network behaviour. Review each product’s privacy documentation for the feature you use.
Native macOS app built with Swift.
Core typing, copied-content and downloaded-model dictation workflows stay local. Licensing, optional renewal lookups, model downloads, opted-in diagnostics and direct AI-provider checks are separate network actions. AI Usage uses existing provider sign-in and does not send provider credentials to Tegaro.
