coconutBattery vs Tegaro
Tegaro is better if you want battery and adapter details next to CPU, memory and disk. coconutBattery is stronger for its dedicated battery history.
coconutBattery is a long-standing app for checking battery wear. Here is how it compares to Tegaro's Power tool, which shows charge, charging wattage, time left, health, cycles and temperature.

Tegaro and coconutBattery both show you how healthy your MacBook battery is and how it is charging. coconutBattery is a dedicated battery app that can also read the battery of an iPhone or iPad plugged in by cable. Tegaro's Power tool shows battery charge, charging wattage, time to full or remaining, battery health, cycle count and temperature, plus CPU, memory and disk load, in the menu bar next to eight other tools. Its battery readings are read-only and it does not limit charging; keep awake is its one control. If you want to check an iPhone battery, use coconutBattery.

AI usage may query Claude or Codex providers using existing authentication; licensing checks, downloads, updates and opted-in email have separate network behaviour. Review each product’s privacy documentation for the feature you use.
Native macOS app built with Swift.
Core typing, copied-content and downloaded-model dictation workflows stay local. Frequently asked questions
Why does my 96W charger only show 45W while charging?
The 96W rating is the most the adapter can deliver. Your MacBook asks for less power depending on its battery level, temperature and what you are doing, so the number you see is usually lower.
Can Tegaro check the battery of my iPhone like coconutBattery?
No. Tegaro covers your Mac only. For an iPhone or iPad battery check over USB, coconutBattery is the right tool.
Does Tegaro work on a desktop Mac like a Mac mini or Mac Studio?
Tegaro runs on any Mac with macOS 13 or later, Apple Silicon or Intel. Battery details only exist on MacBooks, so a desktop Mac has no battery to show.
