Raycast vs Tegaro

Tegaro is better if you need its focused Mac utilities without turning them into a launcher. Raycast is stronger for extensions and command launching.

Raycast is a keyboard launcher with a large extension store. Tegaro is a menu-bar toolkit. Here is where each one fits, and how they work together.

Tegaro and Raycast both speed up everyday Mac work, but they are different kinds of app. Raycast is a keyboard launcher that replaces Spotlight, with extensions, window management and AI features. Tegaro is a menu-bar toolkit with ten tools: clipboard history that can search text inside screenshots, displays (brightness, resolution and a Dock copy on every screen), battery and load readouts, dictation, screenshots, layout fixing and more. Tegaro does not replace your launcher, so the two work well side by side.

One menu-bar app

Tegaro groups several everyday Mac utilities under one icon.

Privacy and footprint

Tegaro runs its core typing, clipboard and downloaded-model dictation workflows locally. AI usage may query Claude or Codex providers using existing authentication; licensing checks, downloads, updates and opted-in email have separate network behaviour. Review each product’s privacy documentation for the feature you use.

Native macOS app built with Swift.

Core typing, copied-content and downloaded-model dictation workflows stay local. Licensing, optional renewal lookups, model downloads, opted-in diagnostics and direct AI-provider checks are separate network actions. AI Usage uses existing provider sign-in and does not send provider credentials to Tegaro.

How to Switch from Raycast to Tegaro

  1. Keep Raycast for launching apps, window management and scripts. Tegaro does not replace it.
  2. Install Tegaro and turn on the tools you want, such as Clipboard, Displays or Dictation.
  3. If you want to use one clipboard history, turn off Raycast's clipboard history and keep Tegaro's.
  4. Try searching for text inside a screenshot from Tegaro's Clipboard.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Tegaro together with Raycast or Alfred?

Yes. Many Mac users keep a launcher for opening apps and use Tegaro in the menu bar for clipboard history, display tools, battery readouts, dictation and layout fixing.

Does Tegaro replace Raycast?

No. Tegaro has no launcher and no extension store. It covers ten specific tools in one menu-bar icon.

Does Tegaro offer cloud AI features like Raycast Pro?

No. Tegaro keeps what you copy, type and say on your Mac and does not upload your content. Dictation uses a speech model you download once, then works offline.
